July Happenings at Altitude Peak Fitness

Dear Melissa,

Summer is here and we are happy to have celebrated our first Anniversary!    Thanks to each and every one of you that has been a part of Altitude this year.  I look forward to continuing to help you achieve your fitness goals in future years.  Sign-up today and start having fun while looking hot this summer!

Check out what's happening at Altitude this summer:

--Thanks to all of you, we donated another 73 pairs of tennis shoes to One World Running.  OWR cleans the shoes and distributes them to youth and athletes around the world.  Shoes not in condition to be reused are recycled and made into running tracks and playgrounds.  Our recent donation will help those in Africa, Haiti, or Central America.

--Join us Saturday, July 12th  for the Altitude Hiking Club.  We will either hike near Golden or Evergreen depending on the club's preference that day.  Either hike will be of moderate difficulty.   We'll leave Altitude (2151 Larimer St.) at 10:00 A.M. and carpool to the trailhead.  Friends, family, and dogs are welcome.  Remember to bring water, sunscreen, snacks, and whatever else you might need.  For those interested we will grab some food and beverages after the hike.

--Looking for the same intensity in a class that fits into your busy schedule?  Our Prime Time Fitness class is the perfect match.  Class starts at 6:00 p.m. and will be an hour of cardio, core, and strength training similar to the peak fitness camps but lasting only an hour.  You will be done and on your way with plenty of time to enjoy all of your summer activities.  Classes meet M/W/Th.  Sign-up now for our July 14th Camp!

--Busy with the kids, training for that special summer race, enjoying your summer vacation?  It's that time of year when life gets busy, but don't let your health and fitness routine suffer.  Purchase the Peak Pass  and stay balanced.

--Annual Memberships are now available.  Sign-up today and save 25%.  Look hot and sexy all year long at a discounted price!  Talk to an instructor today for details.

--Curious about our camps?  Interested in checking out a class before you register?  No need to wait for the next Visitor Day, just contact us to let us know when is a convenient time for you to visit.

Who's Who:  How Well Do You Know Your Fellow Campers?

Nicole Chiantello is a an annual member of the early crew.  Yes, that's 5:30 a.m.!  When I think of Nicole I think of a secret weapon.  She is soft spoken and friendly, but expect to have your butt kicked if you challenge her in just about any area in the gym.  Of course that is due to the fact that she has almost perfect attendance every camp and always gives 110% effort.  The other thing you have to love about Nicole is her skeleton gloves--I think they might need to be the Altitude "uniform" next winter.

Read on to find out what other secrets and hidden talents Nicole has...

NICOLE

What living person do you most admire?

My mom -- She's amazing.  She is smart and funny and fun.  She has a difficult job that she is really great at, and she is a thoughtful and supportive mother.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Shoes (especially boots) and chocolate, of course.  =)

What trait do you most deplore in others?

I can't stand a 'know-it-all', especially when it's unsubstantiated.
What is your favorite cocktail?
Raspberry vodka and soda

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Promptness....mainly because it is a virtue that I lack.

Who is your favorite professional sports team?

The Red Wings -- I watched them all the time with my dad when I was growing up.

What is one thing other campers would be surprised to find out about you?

I have a 3rd degree blackbelt in Kenpo Karate.  I studied martial arts all through grade school, high school, and college, but I haven't found a dojo in Denver that I love.

What is your most visited Denver night spot?
 The Cowboy Lounge

What is your favorite Altitude workout?
One that is over...  ;-)

Are you interested in strength training?  We are considering a class focused on just strength training - no cardio.  The goal would be to increase mass along with strength (more than just toning).  The class would be offered three nights a week for 45-60 minutes.  If this is something you have an interest in let us know your thoughts.
